About Our
Organization
The Lorio Foundation was formed on February 16, 1996 through the generosity of Mrs. Anna Lorio Richard, who died on March 2, 1996. Mrs. Richard was the recipient of a legacy at the death of her brother Lloyd Lorio in January 20, 1996. To date, the Lorio Foundation has distributed grant funds totaling $27,587,346.00 in the community of Thibodaux.

The Lorio Foundation began with $14,000,000.00 and today is worth over $30,000.00.00. This allows the Foundation to grant funds of over $1,000,000.00 in the community of Thibodaux each year. The grant funds are given to a very diverse group of entities. However, the largest benefactors are in the field of education.
The mission statement of The Lorio Foundation is very simple – we want to do the most good for the most people in our community.
